Carmaster Garage, is a modern, family-run garage in Starbeck offering drivers from across the Harrogate district with a genuine alternative to soulless, expensive main dealers.

Established in 1998, Carmaster Garage quickly filled a gap in the Harrogate vehicle repair market for an independent garage to rival the standard of work and services offered by the main dealers. Our priority is not the number of cars that we get through the doors, it’s ensuring that we deliver the very best workmanship and customer care.

What we do at Carmaster Garage

We offer complete servicing and MOT testing, and we specialise in diagnostics required for modern vehicle repairs, including engine management, SRS (Supplemental Restraint System), air conditioning systems, as well as radar and camera calibration.

ADAS Calibration Specialists in Harrogate

Carmaster Garage was the first independent garage in Yorkshire to install Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) calibration equipment in our garage. Our team has been trained to the highest levels to maximise your safety, and that of other road users.

Our Expertise

In order to provide the best possible service, we invest heavily in the development and training of our award-winning staff. We currently employ nine qualified technicians, all of whom hold a Level 3 IMI Diploma or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles. In addition, eight of those technicians are also qualified MOT testers. We also have technicians who are IMI Level 3 qualified in Auto Refrigerant Handling and Air Conditioning System Diagnostics.

Furthermore, as hybrid and electric vehicles are becoming more readily available, our team has begun to diversify, and five employees currently hold a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems qualification, with a fourth working towards one. This is vital to ensure the safety of both our staff and customers.

In line with recent developments in car safety systems, four of our team hold recognised qualifications in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and many of our workshop team are qualified in Advanced DPF Diagnostics.

Carmaster Garage is proud to be home to Apprentice of the Year alongside finalists in competitions such as Bright Spark of the Year, National Technician of the Year, and we’re very proud to have recently been a finalist in Garage of the Year.

As we strive to provide the very best in advice and customer care, our reception team is not left out. Many of the team have been on tyre courses, and ADAS and air conditioning courses. In addition, they have qualifications in Fire Safety, and Level 3 qualifications in First Aid at Work and Mental First Aid at Work, to name a few.

Finally, we are passionate about the development of young people in our industry and so currently have one apprentice, another has very recently qualified – both of whom we are incredibly proud of. We look forward to employing another later this year.
